Wheeling Central Dominates Weir In OVAC Semis

Wheeling Central claimed 14-0 victory over Weir in the OVAC 1A-3A girls soccer semifinals on Wednesday at the 16th Street Soccer Field. 11 players scored for the Maroon Knights against the Red Riders, led by a hat trick from Maddie Kirchner. Elizabeth Steele and Kaila Blatt each scored two goals. Also putting through goals were Rylee Wright, Loni Kusic, Brooke Porter, Angelina Robrecht, Berklee Heller, Kendall Schmitt and Morgan Ondrejko.

Aylin Yoho tallied two assists, while each of Rylee Wright, Loni Kusic, Seneca Heller, Elizabeth Steele, Kendall Schmitt, Maddie Kirchner and Jaidyn Kowall had one assit.

Weir did not attempt a shot on goal.

With the victory, Wheeling Central advances to the championship game, set for Saturday against Steubenville Catholic at St. Clairsville High School.
