TANIS TRAVIS
Tanis Sue Tweedlie Travis, age 80, of Glen Dale, WV died Sunday, December 1, 2024 at WVU Wheeling Hospital, Wheeling, WV.
She was born October 5, 1944 in Wheeling, WV the daughter of the late Thomas Joseph and Anna Irene Slonaker Tweedlie.
She was proudly retired from C & P Telephone and Ohio County Library; a member of St. Jude Catholic Church, Hobby Toppers, Moundsville Women’s Club, Telephone Pioneers, Rosary Society at St. James, and American Legion Auxiliary member.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Glen Travis; and a sister, Cathy A. Tweedlie Blair.
Survivors include a daughter, Beth A. Travis Salkovick; two grandchildren, Hannah (Caleb) Fancher of KY, and Geoffrey Salkovick of Glen Easton, WV; siblings, Tom (Sandy) Tweedlie, Mary Virginia (Ken) Chambon, and Debbie (Marc) Abraham; a sister-in-law, Joan (John) Holman; brothers-in-law, Carl (Vickie) Travis and Joe Blair; nieces and nephews; and numerous life-long friends and wonderful neighbors on both 10th Street and Burley Ave., whom she cherished.
Family will receive friends on Friday from 10am until time of Funeral Liturgy with Mass at 12 noon at St. Jude Catholic Church, 710 Jefferson Ave., Glen Dale with Fr. John Ledford as celebrant.
Interment in Riverview Cemetery, Moundsville.
