MICHAEL REUTHER

Michael F. Reuther, a cherished husband, father, and grandfather, passed away peacefully on December 24, 2024, at the age of 66, after a long illness. He was born on November 21, 1958, in Wheeling, West Virginia, and took his final breath at WVU Medicine, Wheeling Hospital.

Michael dedicated much of his career to Mull Industries, from which he retired after many years of service. In his personal life, he found immense joy in family and hobbies. He was a devoted husband to Michele (Shaner) Reuther for over 47 years, a testament to a loving partnership that was central to his life. Mike was a Lutheran by faith who was faithfully devoted to the Lord.

An enthusiast of 1960s music, it carried him throughout his days bringing him joy and solace. He loved watching scary movies with his kids and grandkids, Michael also found great satisfaction in woodworking and making knives. These interests were not merely pastimes but passions that he pursued with dedication and skill.

Mike was preceded in death by several beloved family members, including his cherished “Nana,” Marie Kotschenreuther, his special “Aunt Addie,” Adelaid Christy, his mother Shirley Lee, his mother-in-law Betty Shaner, and his brother David Allard.

He leaves behind a loving family who will continue to honor his memory: his beloved wife Michele, his children Juliann (Shane) Allman, Lora (Josh Suprenant) Reuther, Melissa (Wesley) Anderson, and Michael B. Reuther, and his treasured grandchildren Anna Allman, Abby Allman, and Saylor Covington. He is also survived by his father-in-law Theodore Shaner, his father Fredrick August Reuther, and his brothers Bruce Reuther and Robert Allard.

Family and friends are invited to pay their respects at the visitation on Sunday, December 29, 2024, from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM at Altmeyer Funeral Home, Elm Grove Chapel. A funeral service will be held on Monday, December 30, 2024, at 12:00 PM at the same location, with interment to follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Wheeling, WV.
