LAURA MAE HARTLEY

Laura Mae Crow Hartley, 95, of Moundsville, WV, passed away peacefully with family by her side on Friday, September 20, 2024 at her home.

She was born March 24, 1929 in Moundsville, a daughter of the late Arthur and Mary (McWhorter) Crow. Laura Mae was a 1947 Graduate of Moundsville High School and was a member of Waymans Ridge United Methodist Church. Along with caring for her husband and children, she worked hard on the family dairy farm for over thirty years. She sacrificed a great deal during her lifetime to ensure that her family’s needs were met. In her free time, Laura Mae enjoyed flower gardening and listening to country music. She loved taking bus trips with family and friends to various places.

In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her loving husband, Allen Hartley (1989); a grandson, Brandon Crow; three brothers, Charles Crow, Aldean Crow and Roger Crow; her sister, Sandy Wright, a half-sister, Maxine Rotilio and a son-in-law, James Cunningham.

Laura Mae is survived by her five daughters, Connie Cunningham, Brenda (Charles) Foster, Venetta (Robert Mosser) South, Tammy (Michael) Crow and Beth Ann McClellan all of Moundsville; one brother, Norman (Dottie) Crow of Moundsville; nine grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and one great-great-granddaughter and several nieces and nephews.

Family and friends will be received Tuesday, September 24, 2024 from 2-4 and 6-8 pm at Altmeyer Funeral Homes, Lutes & Kirby-Vance Chapel, 118 Grant Ave., where funeral services will take place Wednesday, September 25 at 1 pm with Pastor Peggy Klages officiating. Interment will follow at Limestone Cemetery.
