Salvation Army Urgently Looking For Clothing Donations
The Salvation Army in Ohio, Marshall, Wetzel, and Tyler counties is putting out an urgent call for clothing donations at its Wheeling and Moundsville locations.
Donations can be dropped off in Wheeling to The Salvation Army warehouse at 121 17th St. on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. and on Saturdays from 10 a.m.-1 p.m. Donations can be dropped off for the new Moundsville Service Center at 700 Jefferson Ave. on Thursdays from 9 a.m.-3 p.m.
The Salvation Army just announced that it will open a brand new service center on Jefferson St. in Moundsville later this month, with a Family Thrift Store to follow in early February. Exact dates to be announced soon.
“Many people in the community spend part of the new year going through their closets and getting rid of clothes that they no longer wear,” Salvation Army Lt. John Lawrence said. “We’d love to help those articles find a new home, and in the process, those donations make a huge impact in helping meet the other needs in the community including food, utilities, and rental assistance.
“Right now, our warehouse is running low on new clothing items to stock our store with,” he added, “and with us opening up a new service center and thrift store in Moundsville, we could really use the community’s help by bringing us the clothing they no longer want or need.”
The Salvation Army asks that nobody drop any donations off outside of these times or leave them on the sidewalk outside the building for any reason.
