Elks Names Students Of The Month
Wheeling Elks Lodge No. 28 has announced its students of the month for December and January. The December winners are Ava Hanson and Nathaniel Barack, both seniors at Wheeling Central Catholic High School. For January, Sarah Yoss and Camden Frye, both seniors at Cameron High School, are the Elks Students of the Month.
Hanson, the daughter of Mandi and Jason Hanson of Bridgeport, Ohio, is president of both the Mathematics Honor Society and the Math and Science Tutoring Program at her school. She is a three-year member of the softball, basketball and volleyball teams.
She was a representative at both the Hugh O’Brian Leadership Conference and at Rhododendron Girls State. She volunteers regularly at a number of facilities including St. Michael’s Parish School and St. Francis Cabrini Church.
Barack, the son of Julie and Cory Barack of St. Clairsville, Ohio, is captain of the boys cross country team and is an Eagle Scout. He is a member of both the National Honor Society, and the Science National Honor Society. He also attended Mountaineer Boys State and is a regular volunteer at Catholic Charities and St. Michael’s Parish School.
Yoss, the daughter of Lisa and Nathan Yoss of Cameron, is the historian of the National Honor Society and is a member of the Student Council. She is a member of the volleyball team, the Future Business Leaders of America, and the Prom Committee.
Frye, the son of Micha and Chris Frye of Cameron, is president of the Student Council. He is also a captain of the football, basketball and track teams. He is a member of the Drug Free Club. He also enjoys playing the guitar.
