Wendy Scatterday Reappointed to West Virginia Board of Architects

WENDY SCATTERDAY

Gov. Jim Justice recently reappointed Wheeling resident Wendy Scatterday to the West Virginia Board of Architects.

Scatterday was initially named to the Board of Architects by Gov. Earl Ray Tomblin in 2017, then reappointed in 2019 by Justice for five years, and again for this most recent reappointment, serving a full five-year term for the residents of West Virginia.

“I’m grateful to be able to continue to serve my home state of West Virginia to help protect the health, safety and welfare of the general public and our communities across the state as West Virginia continues to grow and prosper,” Scatterday said.

Scatterday is a sole practitioner, having started her own firm, Scatterday Architecture, in October 2013. She earned her bachelor’s degree in architecture from the University of Tennessee in 1995 and became a registered architect with the West Virginia Board of Architects in 2000. Scatterday also holds a registration with the State of Ohio Architects Board.

The West Virginia Board of Architects was established to safeguard the life, health, property and public welfare of the people of the state and to protect against the unauthorized, unqualified and improper practice of architecture.

The board conducts multiple regular meetings annually and holds special meetings as necessary. The board includes seven members – five registered architects and two public members, one Democrat and one Republican.

All board members are appointed by the governor. This appointment requires the advice and consent of the West Virginia Senate.

Scatterday formerly worked as a project architect with Schamu Machowski Greco Architects. She serves on the boards of the Women’s Giving Circle and the Greater Wheeling Coalition for the Homeless as well as other volunteer contributions within Wheeling as needs are identified requiring architectural expertise.

Starting at $2.99/week.
