Recently, I was driving down Main Street in Wheeling when I saw at 14th and Main streets a group of people sitting and standing in the rain, waiting for a Greyhound bus. Surely, I thought, we can do better than this.
We have the Byrd Intermodal Transportation Center, built as we know to be a center for bus traffic. Yet it seems we have trouble keeping a Greyhound office up and running. Of course, if there was a simple solution, it would be in place now.
Hopefully, there can be a dialogue with Greyhound and the city fathers to remedy this situation. When cold weather hits, it will only get worse. The present state of affairs does not reflect well on our little city or the Greyhound brand.
