Major sponsors are committed to Faith in Action Caregivers' triathlon and duathlon, but additional race sponsorships are still being sought.
The 13th annual triathlon and duathlon - Faith in Action's biggest fundraiser - will begin and end at Wheeling Jesuit University Saturday, July 12.
Two platinum medal sponsors - the highest level of sponsorship - are the Christian Fellowship Foundation and Faith in Action Caregivers' board of directors and advisory council. WesBanco Bank Inc. is a silver medal sponsor.

Registration for the event will be accepted through Wednesday, July 9. Applications for the race are available from the Faith in Action Caregivers office at 38 N. 4th St., Martins Ferry, and on the organization's website at www.faithinactionwheeling.org. Participants can also register online at www.active.com.
To date, about 80 people are ready to assist with traffic control during the event, but many more race day helpers are needed to ensure the safety of the participants, said Jeanette L. Wojcik, Faith in Action executive director. For more information on helping with the race or becoming a sponsor, call the organization at 304-243-5420.
The triathlon begins with a 400-yard swim in the pool at the McDonough Center at 7:30 a.m. The second leg is a 25 K bike course. The race concludes with a 5 K run on the cross country trail on campus.
The duathlon will begin at approximately 7:45 a.m. with a group start. In this event, athletes participate in a 3 K run, a 25 K bike and another 5 K run.
The Rev. John Brandenburg, Faith in Action Caregivers board president, said, "We are pleased to partner with Wheeling Jesuit University to bring this fun family event to our community. By participating in the race everyone has a chance to make a difference in the lives of our elderly and disabled neighbors."
Race participants have the opportunity to stay on campus the night before the race. For information on campus lodging, call 304-243-5420.
Participants can enter either race as individuals in age, weight and gender categories. There also will be competition categories for individual male and female clergy.
Teams are eligible to participate with each team member completing one leg of the race. Team categories include family, clergy, faith community, several different combined age groups, business, civic-service club or high school.
Faith in Action Caregivers supports the independent living of older adults and people with disabilities in Ohio, Marshall and Belmont counties through the shared ministry of faith communities. All services are provided without charge regardless of income level.
Funds raised from the race will provide coordination of services to those in need of assistance such as escorted transportation, shopping, errands, chores, friendly visiting, telephone reassurance and respite for family caregivers.
