The first Upper Ohio Valley Multicultural Festival will be held from 1-8 p.m. Sunday at Wheeling's Heritage Port.
This free festival is set to be an annual event at the Wheeling Heritage Port, with entertainment and activities reflecting the rich cultural heritage of the Upper Ohio Valley.
The Ohio Valley Black Heritage Festival Committee and the YWCA Wheeling are co-sponsoring this family-friendly event. There will be live entertainment provided by the Allegro Dance Company, Scottish bagpipe player Betsy Bethel-McFarland, the Ohio Valley High Steppers baton twirling team, a group of young men from Wheeling Park High School, the Ohio Valley African American Student Association and the Primitives from New Vrindaban, among many others.
Free exhibits will include Cabela's air rifle and archery ranges, live entertainment, balloon art, face painting, the Fort Henry Days exhibit, the Around the World Carnival and an International Boardwalk.
