Lois Pauline "Polly" Keiger Bryant, a longtime resident of Beech Bottom, celebrated her 100th birthday Tuesday, June 17.
The daughter of the late Etta Miller Keiger and Oscar Keiger, she was born on June 17, 1914 in Greene County, Pa. She married Oliver Thomas Bryant on Dec. 24, 1935 in her family home in West Alexander, Pa. He died Feb. 19, 1988. They were the parents of a son and a daughter.
Her family includes the late Thomas Bryant and Lois R. Bryant Clark and her husband, Parker, of California. She has three grandsons and five great-grandchildren.
Bryant is a very active member and leader in her church and community and an avid gardener. "Most importantly, Polly is admired and appreciated for the example she displays with her positive attitude toward life and her staunch Christian beliefs," friends stated.
She will be honored by family and friends at a special recognition service at Kadesh Chapel United Methodist Church, Apple Pie Ridge Road, at 11 a.m. today, June 22. A birthday luncheon will be served at the church after the service.
