Dorothy Mae Phillips McSwain, 97, of Wheeling, WV, died Thursday, June 5, 2014, in Sunbury, OH.
She was born November 13, 1916, the daughter of the late Charles and Ada Phillips.
Mrs. McSwain was a retired purchasing agent for Wheeling Pittsburgh Steel and she was employee in the purchasing department of the former Wheeling National Bank for over 20 years. She also was a former member of the Thompson United Methodist Church.
She was a graduate of West Virginia Wesleyan College in Buckhannon, WV; an active member of the Order of Easter Star, and a adult adviser for the Rain Bow Girls.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Howard C. McSwain in 1986; and a brother, Charles Phillips.
She was the beloved aunt of three nieces, Christy McSwain Carter and her husband, Stephen of Ewing, NJ, Connie McSwain Blair of Westerville, OH and Mida Jane Kemp Delaney of Austintown, OH.
Friends will be received from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. on Friday, June 6, 2014, at the Kepner Funeral Home, 900 National Road, Wheeling (304-232- 2732) where service will be held on Saturday, June 7, 2014, at 11 a.m. with the Reverend Bryan D. Carpenter officiating. Interment in Greenwood Cemetery, Wheeling.
