My appreciation goes to the Shriners who opened Monument Place to the public on four evenings during the Christmas season. We were warmly welcomed, our tour guide was very knowledgeable and the rooms were beautifully decorated. My out- of-town guests thoroughly enjoyed the history lesson that they received through this opportunity to see the home and relive the life of Lydia Shepherd Cruger. They were even given a booklet, "The Shepherds and their Mansion," to learn more. This was a wonderful holiday treat, complete with cocoa and cookies.
Thank you Shriners for your caretaking of this historic building and for inviting the community to view it.
