A drug raid Thursday by the Jefferson County Drug Task Force and the Steubenville Police Department resulted in drugs and other paraphernalia being recovered, but no arrests.
Jason Hanlin, narcotics detective, said the raid 1323 Ridge Ave. at 8:15 p.m. Thursday resulted in the recovery of 5 grams of heroin, a firearm, cash and drug paraphernalia. He added there were three adults and one juvenile living at the residence, but it wasn't clear to whom the drugs belonged. No arrests were made, but the investigation will continue, said Hanlin.
Meanwhile, Weirton resident John Anderson was arrested Wednesday after Steubenville police said they found him asleep in his vehicle on Madison Avenue at Fourth Street. Anderson told police he was driving around looking for some place to cash his check. Police searched his car and found nearly $700 worth of heroin and a hypodermic needle. Anderson is facing a possession of drugs and drug paraphernalia charges. Bond was set at $5,000.
