Flood Insurance Premiums Going Up

November 10, 2013
The Intelligencer / Wheeling News-Register

ditor, News-Register:

This is an open leter to all residents who live in a flood zone. Did you know that as of Oct. 1, FEMA is no longer subsidizing flood insurance? I only found out about it by listening to Clark Howard on the news at about 6 a.m. I don't know why the general public was not informed that the rates are going to triple. Not only that, you have to have a certificate of elevation completed at your expense, at a cost of betwen $300 and $800. Please let your representatives know how underhanded this is. How are some people going to afford this?

I am writing this because you need to know and can make sound dcisions for your home and property.
