A rollover crash in the eastbound lanes of Interstate 470 at about 1 p.m. Friday claimed the life of a Fairborn, Ohio man, according to troopers with the Ohio State Highway Patrol.
Michael Botwin, 68, died as a result of injuries sustained in the crash.
According to reports, Botwin, the driver of an Acura, was fatally wounded, while the driver of a sport utility vehicle suffered minor injuries. Both drivers were transported to Ohio Valley Medical Center in Wheeling. The name of the second driver was not released Friday.
The SUV was traveling in the right eastbound lane and went left of center, striking the Acura, which was in the left eastbound lane.
The impact caused both vehicles to roll over several times. State patrol officials were the first to arrive at the scene. Crews had to cut the Acura to free Botwin, who was pinned between the car and the ground.
A professional reconstruction crew was called to the scene for an investigation, which continued late Friday.
