Reynolds Memorial Hospital will close its New Generations Birth Center Oct. 1, leaving approximately 10 employees without a job.
"This was a difficult and emotional decision," hospital Chief Executive Officer Jay Prager said. "However, we are focusing our resources on programs and services that are most beneficial to the community. This is consistent with our mission."
The hospital issued a press release Friday announcing the closure. Attempts to reach hospital officials for further comment were unsuccessful.
