Regarding June 1 article "Medicare Fund Depletion in '26": Social Security funding problems have been known and sidestepped for decades. Medicare funding problems are more recent, but also sidestepped. Why in the world hasn't something significant been done to correct them long before now?
As it turns out, the reason for funding problems is stated exquisitely and concisely in the article: "A solution ... has proven elusive because of the political dangers posed. ..." Amen!
Politics is all that matters: got to get re-elected come Hades or high water! American citizens can go pound salt: my political career is what counts!
