WHEELING - The 13th Annual Grecian Fest is slated July 31-Aug. 3 at St. John the Divine Greek Orthodox Church, 2215 Chapline St., Wheeling.
The festival offers authentic Grecian food and entertainment. At the Greek Market Place, visitors can explore the church's gift shop featuring beautiful imported Greek items such as rosaries and imported silver and gold jewelry.
At the youth tent, people can enjoy a refreshing baklava sundae or golden honey dipped loukoumades. Fresh made lemonade also is available. Inside the St. John's Bookstore people can discover the Orthodox faith through books, icons and other religious items.
On Chapline Street at the Music Tent, festival-goers can listen and dance to the wonderful sounds of authentic live Greek and contemporary music from 6-10 p.m. Thursday-Saturday.
At the church's indoor kitchen, patrons can choose from roasted chicken, lamb, fish, pastisio, mousaka and grape leaves. This is where pastries such as baklava, galatobouriko, sweet bread, koulourakia and more also are available.
At the Outdoor Tavern & Grille, offerings include gyros, chicken wings, tavern fries, calamari, refreshments, draft beer and more.
The junior and senior Agape Dancers perform in traditional dress each evening starting at 6 p.m. on the street.
