LYNSKEY, June Elizabeth Merckle, 87, of Wheeling, WV, died Tuesday, April 30, 2013, in Good Shepherd Nursing Home.

She was born May 27, 1925, in Monroe County, OH, a daughter of the late Roy H. and Jesse Hissom Merckle.

June was a former employee of the Wheeling Intelligencer, a member of St. Michael Catholic Church, Christian Mothers, Knights of Columbus Auxiliary (Carroll Ladies) a volunteer for the Gabriel Project, and a very active member of the former St. Joan of Arc Parish.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her loving husband of 64 years, Thomas Martin "Tim" Lynskey; two sons, David and Timothy Lynskey; two brothers, Robert and Donald Merckle; two sisters, Doris Schaber and Ruth Hartman.

Surviving are one son, Thomas Lynskey, Jr., and his wife Darlene of St. Mary, OH; two daughters, Suzanne Nelson and her husband Jay of Wheeling; Elizabeth "Libby" Reynolds and her husband Dennis of Wheeling; two brothers-in-law, Victor (Delores) Lynskey of Steubenville, OH; Jack Schaber of Woodsfield, OH; 10 grandchildren; Eric (Susan), Adam (Angel) and Kevin (Tiffany) Lynskey, Christopher Nelson, Carrie Trujillo (Paul), Julie Dally (Drew), Patrick Reynolds, Amanda Reynolds, Annemarie Reynolds and Christine Reynolds, many great-grandchildren and foster grandchildren, her wonderful friends, Marty Brosh, Vivian Thomas and her roommate at the GSNH, Elizabeth Mc-Granahan.

Friends received 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Thursday at the Altmeyer Funeral Home, 154 Kruger St., Wheeling, where Vigil services will be held at 3:30 p.m.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, May 3, 2013 at 1 p.m. in St. Michael Catholic Church with Rev. Jeremiah McSweeney as celebrant.

Interment will follow in Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Wheeling.

Memorial contributions may be made to the 18th Street Neighborhood Center, Catholic Charities or National Right to Life.
