I would to take this chance to thank all the community members who donated their time and talents to help make the Earth Day event at Warwood Garden Park a great success. The Earth Day event was held on Sunday, April 21.
I would like to express gratitude for the use of Garden Park facilities, all the volunteers who showed up to help, all the musicians who played, all the kids who came out to participate in making T-shirts, planting seeds, and playing games. I would like to say thanks to all who donated prizes, treats, handouts, and posters. I would like to say thanks to all who attended and all who worked behind the scenes even if they couldn't attend due to work or other schedule conflicts.
Furthermore, I would like to say thanks to all who got up to speak about their concerns about the GreenHunter frack waste treatment plant which is proposed for 1.2 miles north of our public water treatment facility and to all who marched from the proposed frack waste treatment to raise community awareness of this proposed site.
I would also like to let everyone know about the newly formed Wheeling Water Warriors Facebook page. Information on the Wheeling Water Warriors can be found at www.Facebook.com/WheelingWaterWarriors. Upcoming events will be noted on the Facebook page soon.
There is a petition to oppose the GreenHunter frack waste treatment plant. The information can be found on the Wheeling Water Warriors Facebook page or at www.change.org/petitions/wheeling-city-council-oppose-the-greenhunter-fracking-wastewater-treatment-plant-in-warwood. Please continue to sign and share the petition.
Last, thank you to everyone who works to keep our community a good, safe place to live. Thank you all for getting involved!
