MORRISTOWN - Steubenville displayed the heart of a champion during their Ohio Division II sectional game.
Ultimately, they fell just short though as Emiley Masloski's three-pointer to tie the game was off the mark and Carrollton held on for the victory.
Emiley Masloski, who was hobbled by injury, played a game to remember in the loss. The junior guard struck for a game-high 18 points, and hit a three with 22.4 seconds left to pull her team within three at 51-48.
Carrollton's Monica Starre missed two foul shots after being fouled with 17 seconds left giving Big Red the shot at the tie. When Steubenville's final shot fell short Starre was fouled again with .6 seconds left and hit one of two for the four-point final margin of victory.
Lysiah Rice joined Masloski in double figures with 10 points. Taylor Young added eight and Abbey Taylor seven.
Starre and Savana Lowery tied for the Warriors top honors with 13 points each. Ali Poole added 11 points.
