MOUNDSVILLE - University outscored John Marshall 13-5 during the first quarter and went on to top the Monarchs and assure itself of a spot in next week's Class 5A portion of the Wheeling Hospital OVAC Tournament.
Travis Tomer and Adam Meadows both scored 14 points for the Hawks (12-5), while Kevin Dixon had 11.
Evan Magers paced John Marshall (4-11) with 15 points and eight rebounds.
