BOLSHAKOV, George, 68, of Wheeling, WV, passed away on Monday, January 22, 2013, in the Ohio Valley Medical Center, Wheeling.
He was born September 1, 1944, in Berlin, Germany, the son of the late Alexander and Ida Kerema Bolshakov.
Mr. Bolshakov was a retired school teacher for the Ohio County Schools, he was a U.S. Army veteran awarded two bronze stars having served in Vietnam and was a Lutheran by Faith.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister.
Surviving are his wife, Sandra Lee Reese Bolshakov; three children, Julie C. Bolshakov of New York City, NY, Ryan T. Bolshakov of Wheeling and Nick S. Bolshakov of Wheeling; a brother, Val Bolshakov of New York City, NY; a twin sister, Olga McQuade and her husband, Dan of CT; five sisters, Eugenie Bolshakov of CA, Lydia Bolshakov of CA, Irene Woodman of CA, Zinaida Alexi of New York and Militina Bolshakov of New York City, NY; a grandson, soon to arrive; his faithful companion, Rosie; his former students and many friends, especially Dave and Joyce Spurlock and Paula McDonald who never left his side; his card playing buddies Dan and Tom, and several nieces and nephews.
The family expresses their gratitude to the staff at OVMC for their constant care and compassion for George. And a special thank you to ICU for being there at the most difficult time. We love and miss him greatly. We know you're playing basketball again, Daddy.
There will be no visitation. Service and interment will be held at the convenience of the family.
