WHEELING - It was another record-setting night at Wheeling Park High School for junior standout Cecelia Jebbia on Tuesday during a tri-meet against Morgantown and Martins Ferry.

While Morgantown came away with team victories in both the boys' and girls' events against the Patriots and the Purple Riders, Jebbia broke the school record in the 50-yard freestyle with a time of 26.12, beating the previous time of 26.44 set by Abigail Kaczor in 2006.

It is the fourth individual school record set by the Jebbia, who also owns records in the 100, 200 and 500 yard freestyle events, as well as being a part of two relay event school marks.

Wheeling Park’s Katlyn Curnes won the 100-yard breaststroke during a meet held at Wheeling Park High School on Tuesday night.

"I have been trying to get it (the record) since probably my freshman year. I'm kind of relieved to finally get it - I worked really hard," said Jebbia, who also placed first in the 200 freestyle event, posting a time of 2:06.59.

Despite the Mohigans outscoring the Patriots, (90-69 against the boys and 102-63 against the girls) Wheeling Park coach Pat Durkin said he thought his team did a great job.

Park outscored the Martins Ferry boys, 119-25, and the Purple Riders girls, 95-68.

Durkin said despite being down a few swimmers due to injuries, he thought the team "swam really well against Morgantown."

"When you have someone that works so hard as Cece, it's a nice individual accomplishment for her. ... This record has been up for seven years. She's a hard worker and she deserves all the accolades she receives," Durkin added.

Other swimmers winning both of their individual events included: Park junior Katlyn Curnes winning the 200 yard IM with a time of 2:22.30 and the 100 yard breaststroke, clocking in at 1:11.40. While on the boys' side, Noah Salvatore won the 200 yard freestyle with a time of 2:00.85, and the 500 yard freestyle event, posting a time of 5:25.56.

For the Mohigans, senior Ileana Ille won the 100 yard freestyle, with a time of 58.76, while posting a time of 1:06.40 in the 100 yard backstroke.
