NEW MANCHESTER -The Patriots spoiled Senior Day.
Wheeling Park put forth a strong showing Saturday afternoon en route to a 46-19 victory against Oak Glen at the Oak Glen Fieldhouse.
Only seven weight classes were wrestled. The other seven weight classes ended up in forfeits, including a double forfeit at 170 pounds.
Wheeling Park won five of the seven wrestled matches, and the Patriots were awarded victories in four of the forfeits. Oak Glen won two of the wrestled matches, and the Golden Bears won two of the forfeits.
For Oak Glen, Josh Cornell (120) picked up a major decision victory over Austin Digiandomenico by a score of 10-0, and Will Hogan (152) defeated Alex McGlumphy by decision, 5-4, in double overtime.
Also for the Golden Bears, Kyle Mack (126) and Avery Flowers (132) won by forfeit.
For Wheeling Park, Tyson Lira (106) and Danny Colby (160) each won by major decision. Lira defeated Ryan Debee by a score of 197, and Colby defeated Brodie Bittinger, 13-4.
Also for the Patriots, Dallas Baciak (113) pinned Danny Wyke in 2:44, and Jonathan Davis recorded a tech fall victory over Patrick Arneault by a score of 22-5.
Finally for the victors, Cody Amos (182), Isaiah Myers (195), Geremy Paige (220) and Casey Hewitt (285) all won via forfeit.
The match was the final one for Oak Glen's two seniors - Mack and Bittinger.
Bittinger and Mack are two of the team's three captains.
