WRESTLING: Tigers Finish Fourth In Shadyside Invitational

SHADYSIDE - The Shadyside Invitational Most Valuable Wrestler went to Shadyside's Alex Quinn, the 152 pound champion for the Tigers at the 30-team event Saturday.

Northwestern won the team event with 211.5 points and winning three weight classes. The host Tigers finished fourth with 138.5 points and also boasted three champions adding Ian Baker at 145 pounds and Chase Kinemond at 160 pounds.

Harrison Central placed fifth in the team standings with 135.5 points sending two wrestlers to the top of the podium. Anthony Heavlin wan the 106 pound title and Hunter Pizzino claimed the top spot at 126 pounds.

David Forrester placed second at 120 pounds for the Huskies and Rodney Richter won the 113 pound weight class for Monroe Central. Zac Potts was runner-up at 152 pounds for the Seminoles as they finished 12th with 61.5 team points.

Bellaire sent junior Myliek Green to the championship match, but Joey Meek of Northwestern won. Bellaire just missed the top 10 settling for the No. 11 slot with 68 points.

River finished seventh overall with 75 team points paced by Dakota Dunn with a runner-up finish at 182 pounds. The Pilots garnered fourth place points from Jordan Sapp at 145 pounds and Brandon Reusser at 160 pounds and Joseph Dotson in the 220-pound consolations.

The Blue Devils' Bruce Sefert settled for fourth at 152 pounds and Joseph Dotson fell in the 195 pound consolations as Beallsville finished ninth with 69 team points.

Shadyside also had two fourth-place finishers in Wyatt Skapik at 106 pounds and Zach Vaughn at 113 pounds.

John Marshall's Cullen Ebbert won the 220-pound title and Dylan Hall was runner-up at 138 pounds for the Monarchs, who placed sixth in team standings with 124 points.
