Dinner-Dance set

in Ohio County

A holiday dinner-dance for Ohio County seniors will be held at the White Palace, Wheeling Park, from 6-10 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 13.

The deadline for ticket sales is 4 p.m. Monday, Dec. 10. Seniors can send a check and a self-addressed, stamped envelope to Family Service Upper Ohio Valley, 51 11th St., Wheeling, WV 26003 or pick up tickets at the tour desk on the second floor of the Human Resource Center, 51 11th St.

Painting sessions

slated at Victorian home

The Victorian beauty of Elmhurst, the House of Friendship in Wheeling, at the Christmas holiday season will offer area artists and photographers a beautiful setting for a two-day painting, sketching and photography event from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday, Dec. 12-13.

"Following a very successful en plein air in the summer, our participating artists expressed an interest in returning during the holidays when Elmhurst is magnificently decorated, inside and outside. We welcome all artists in any medium to participate," said Jamie Crow, Elmhurst executive director.

The free event begins with coffee and pastries at 8:30 a.m. A soup and sandwich lunch will be offered each day. At 3 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 13, a reception for the artists and display and sale of their artwork will be held.

Senior Center to show 'Arthur Christmas'

Family Service Upper Ohio Valley will present lunch and a movie at M.J. Viola Senior Center, 51 11th St.., Wheeling, Thursday, Dec. 13. The film, "Arthur Christmas," will be shown at 12:30 p.m.

It is a free activity, but donations are accepted. Lunch and transportation must be scheduled two days in advance.

Local duo to entertain

at holiday party

A holiday party will be held at M.J. Viola Senior Center, 51 11th St.., Wheeling, at 11 a.m. Friday, Dec. 28. MJ and Bob will provide music.

A nominal donation is requested. Transportation and lunch reservations are required by Friday, Dec. 21.
