A Wellsburg man facing multiple charges of sexual abuse and possession of child pornography was indicted by a Brooke County grand jury on Monday.
The grand jury returned 19 indictments against Luther E. Hendricks Jr., 43, of RD 2, Wellsburg. He was indicted on four counts of sexual abuse by a custodian for allegedly engaging in sexual contact with a child under his care on four occasions between Jan. 1, 2009, and Nov. 2, 2011; 10 counts of possession of child pornography; and five counts of displaying that material to a minor between May and September.
According to the indictment, the West Virginia State Police found several pornographic images involving children on Hendricks' computer.
He also was indicted for failing to register as a sexual offender. According to the indictment, Hendricks was convicted of possession of child pornography in 2000 and was required to register his email address but didn't notify authorities of his new email address, which he he used to distribute child pornography to a minor.
Also indicted were Mark Galiano, 38, and Michelle Galiano, 35, both of RD 1, Colliers; and Earl O. Gorby, 44, of 238 Meadowcroft Road, Avella, Pa., in connection with an April 25 incident in which the three allegedly entered a Dream Lane, Wellsburg, home through a window and beat two men there with broken table legs.
Brooke County sheriff's deputies said the men were found with multiple lacerations and bruises, and one was transported to Weirton Medical Center then to a Pittsburgh-area hospital.
The Galianos and Gorby each were indicted on one count of burglary, two counts of malicious assault, two counts of assault while committing a felony and a count of conspiring to commit the crime.
