WHEELING - While LED bulbs are becoming increasingly popular for the indoor and outdoor lighting schemes of homes and businesses, customers of Cardello Electric Supply & Lighting continue to request a large variety of lighting styles, according to Barb Smith, showroom lighting consultant for the long established Center Wheeling business.
"Pretty much every customer has a different view of what they're looking for, and we just try and find the styles that they are looking for with the amount of lighting they need," said Smith.
She added while customers still request different types of traditional light bulbs for their fixtures, such as incandescent or fluorescent bulbs, LED bulbs are becoming increasing popular, whether it's for indoor or outdoor, recessed, landscape, accent, decorative, direct or indirect lighting schemes.

The efficiency of energy consumption and much longer lamp life are two big reasons many people are switching to the LED bulbs, according Smith.
The life of a high-power white LED is projected to be from 35,000 to 50,000 hours, compared to 750 to 2,000 hours for an incandescent bulb, 8,000 to 10,000 hours for a compact fluorescent and 20,000 to 30,000 hours for a linear fluorescent bulb, according to National Geographic's Green Living website.
Despite the increase in the use of LED bulbs, Smith said customers continue to request a large variety of lighting styles and light bulbs.
"There are different styles that come out every season ... there is something for everyone," she added. She said the business offers lighting styles for existing homes, remodeling projects, or for new homes.
"From start to finish, we try to have something available," Smith added, while referring to those who are building a new home.
"We just show them what's available and give them some styles and help them out."
