NEWCOMERSTOWN - St. John's Corey Leasure started his season off with a bang, claiming the top spot in the Boys' Small School Division with a time of 16:01.

Caldwell finished third in the team standings, while the Irish were sixth and Union Local 10th.

Tanner Harding paced the Redskins with a fourth-place showing (16:48), while teammate Jonathan Niswonger was 11th (17:49).

Caleb Hayes (29th, 19:10) paced the Jets.

St. John's Fallon Doyle was second in the Girls' Small School Division with a time of 18:55. Shadyside's Tara Tollet was one spot back (19:00).

Caldwell's Jenna Furr was fifth (20:00, while Martins Ferry's Jamie Truchan and Sunshine Wrenn were sixth (20:12) and seventh (20:14), respectively.

Casey Glenn was 24th (22:20) for the Jets. Lake Ramsay paced River (29th, 22:38).

Union Local was fifth in the team standings, while St. John was sixth, Martins Ferry was seventh, Shadyside was 10th and River was 12th.

Indian Creek was fourth in Big School Boys, while Buckeye Local, Harrison Central and Cambridge filled spots 11-13.

Cambridge was fifth in Girls Big School, followed by Harrison Central (eighth) and Indian Creek (10th).
