Carolyn and Thomas Brookover of Wheeling celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary Saturday, March 3.
They were united in marriage March 3,1962 in St. Joseph Cathedral, Wheeling, with the Rev. Bernard Schmitt officiating.
Carolyn Brookover is the daughter of the late Anthony and Ruth Witt of Wheeling. She is a retired registered nurse at Wheeling Hospital.
Brookover is the son of the late Carl and Eleanor Brookover of Wheeling. He is retired from Whirlpool Financial Corp. and Mine Cable Service. Presently, he works for WesBanco Bank.
They are the parents of four children. The family includes Brian and his wife, Maureen, of Chicago; Thomas II and his wife, Elisabeth, of Chicago; Anthony and his wife, Myrna, of Chicago and Christina and her husband, David, of Grand Rapids, Mich. They have seven grandchildren.
They attended World Marriage Day at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, Wheeling, to have their marriage blessed and vows renewed, with the Most Rev. Michael J. Bransfield officiating Saturday, Feb. 11.
They will celebrate with their family this summer.
