DUMAS, David, age 54, died on August 29, 2011. He was a resident of the Southern Pines area for 30 years.
Born on October 24, 1956 to Frank and Beverly Auber Dumas, he grew up in the Wheeling, West Virginia area.
Funeral Mass was held at St. Anthony's Roman Catholic church on Tuesday at 10 a.m. with Monsignor Jeffrey A. Ingham officiating. A Celebration of Life Service followed at 11:30 a.m. at Boles Funeral Home in Southern Pines.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and formerly owned a computer store for twenty years. He played tournament racquetball all over N.C. for many years. He was very sincere, humble, compassionate, and would help anyone at anytime. He was a devoted husband, father, son, brother and friend.
He is predeceased by his father, Frank Dumas.
He leaves behind to cherish his life his wife, Lisa Dumas; son Cole Dumas; daughter Taylor Dumas; mother, Beverly Dumas of Wheeling, W.Va.; brothers Jeff Dumas and wife Elizabeth and Bradley Dumas; sister Rhea Kay Rodgers, husband Dwaine and their children McKenzie and Spencer; and several other nieces and nephews all of Wheeling, W.Va.
In lieu of flowers, a scholarship fund has been set up for the children through the State Employee's Credit Union. Donations should be in the name of either child with reference UTTMA and dropped off or mailed to SECU, P.O. Box 599, Southern Pines, NC 28388.
