If Goosy had her way, there would be a Flintstones mobile in everyone's driveway, powered by pixie dust and wishes, and paid for by Mitt Romney.

goosy, I'll let you figure out how much area you will need for the solar panels!

Funny that the solar power (no cost for fuel) in California is 3-4x more than what comes from other sources of electric! Then we need to add the goberment subsidies, who knows the "real" cost!

"Solar subsidies go primarily to the rich. While subsidies allow owners to pay off the cost over time, up-front costs put solar panels out of reach for most people. Subsidies take money from working-class families and give it to people who can afford high, up-front capital costs."

Liberals are for giving the wealthy goberment handouts! Funny Stuff.

goosy, You off the grid? LOL

Need a mix or wind (minimum 1 acre of unobstructed land) and solar panels! Don't forget the batteries for when the wind don't blow and the sun don't shine! You will also need to convert your electrical system to DC!

ROI (return on investment) is about 40-50 years at today's electric prices.

Post when you have your system up and running! Funny stuff.

I priced a 150,000 dollars solar panel system. AEP was required to pay me half of the cost. The other half of the cost had special tax incentives. After all that the solar panels would only provide about 25% of my consumption and take 25 years for the reduced cost to equal my personal cash outlay(NOT THE 150K COST, JUST MY PORTION)

If the Intelligencer had its way, there would be a Model-T in everyones driveway, powered by coal.
