This suggests the regional ethane deposits are large enough to warrant the cracker. good news.

And the business climate of hillbilly NON-right to work states is BAD enough that the gas can simply be pipe-lined to more business friendly locations which already have the skilled workers with experience in place.

A Consol engineer told me that we have not tapped even 1% of the fields, one of the largest energy fields in the world. And the good news is that gas is clean burning. If Obama wanted to do something worthwhile apart shaking down the industry for "political fees" or pandering to the greenies who gave him millions in his campaigns he might want to consider converting public transportation to CNG. Scientists say that would realize a 60% reduction in pollution levels right away. We were silent over Obama issuing the most offshore drilling permits, ever. And the anti coal movement used to about natural gas tpo replace coal fired power but now that we have it, we protest that too indicating that what passes for environmentalism in the US is just a vote gathering operation. We have a chance to do something great but ironically green does not want that. If what you demand happens and then you don't want that you need to evaluate what you are doing.

The reason why the oil and gas are slow to think about WV: It is not about union and non union, it is about the so called business friendly atmosphere in WV and political fees that seems to be asked of the industry. Could it be too many of the ole boys clubs have their hand out for donations instead of looking out for the citizens of WV?

wvu: the contracts may be written to exclude the items you mentioned. Royalties on gross output of the pads. we anticipate 7K + 20% in Ohio County now based on performance data.

GE is experimenting now with gas for trains. Expect much more use of gas for commercial transport in the next year. CNG is being introduced by GM for cars in Europe this year. Gas is the future and the OV is one World Class source.

wraith: Shell must believe the ethane supply is there to do this. The Ohio County pads - thus far - have exceeded all expectations for oil and ngls: in the 600 br/400br/day respectively range. plus voluminous methane.

wvu: Yes the County has a huge holding. They will make a bundle. They could finance many new business starts if they wish to with good jobs.
