Should they have been fired...maybe not. Should have some sore of punishment been handed down on the officers...yes. I am involved in discipline to state workers...if there are no infractions, unless it is a serious breech of facility security dismissal is not warranted. If Castro wanted to commit sucide no one could have stopped him.

So it's that easy just to quit, huh? I never said anyone was upset with their job. It's how reporters perceive the correctional field. You have no idea. So the easy answer is just fire 3 people. For what? A POS that kidnapped and tortured women. He killed himself. It happens. Yes, the staff members made a mistake. But if someone is going to kill the self, you're not going to stop them.

No. Too many cameras in place now a days. If someone is going to commit suicide, they are going to do it, whether watched or not. He should has suffered a slow death in punishment for what he put those woman through.

Possibility that the guards personally killed him?? Or at least stood by and watched other prisoners do the deed!!

You're upset that a POS who violated people's human rights was allowed to do his perverted sexual act in his cell and no one found him to save him??? Yes, those OFFICERS, not guards, did not do what they were supposed to do. Blame that on supervisors who do not supervise or train officers properly. Honestly, they did the State and the tax payers a favor by not finding him. That's one "person" the State does not have to support for the rest of his life. May his victims have a piece of mind that this monster is no longer among us to prey on them. You reporters make me sick!! Always focusing on the negative prison officers do than the positives. Those men and women go neglected time and time again as they enter those institutions day after day, 24/365 to manage society's misfits under powered and outnumbered. All the while you sit in your safe little cubicle away from the dangers. You don't even have the right to shine those men and women's boots.

It is called "AFSCME" and firing an employee in the State of Ohio normally requires an act of God.
