The political morass that is Charleston will not make any moves to help put a cracker in the northern part of the state. That economic black hole sees any progress here as a threat to their continued pathetic pork existence.

If they can't rip something off for Kanawha, they will work behind the scenes to keep anybody else here from getting one. The best hope for the Ohio Valley is to get one on the Ohio side.

I was thinking maybe the headline was referring to the pending civil rights violation charges against George Zimmerman...

A fellow named Peter Voser was Shell's CEO until a month ago, when he resigned, saying in exit interviews that Shell's huge investment in shale gas wasn't paying off, they have suffered some rather significant losses, and, that he regretted committing so much capital to shale gas. That, when PA state government, the governor especially, cut Shell a lot of breaks, did everything but turn cartwheels, to get them to build the cracker north of Pittsburgh. The governor pumped it to the extreme, trying to tout all the "induced" jobs that would follow - which depended on other companies making huge capital investments to take advantage of the products from the Shell cracker. It's all a house of cards.
