The workers will receive unemployment until it expires. There are no jobs to be trained to do in the OV. They will qualify for Medicaid and food stamps. Once again the Fort Henry Industrial Park was intended to create replacement blue collar jobs; not retail. If Ormet failed to pay the pension fees. the retries may be out in the cold also. Heavy industry is a goner in the OV. Coal will follow soon. Byrd's money for job creation(WNHAC) was squandered. Gas may help some.

Obama quotes: "[I]f somebody wants to build a coal-powered plant, they can. It's just that it will bankrupt them," and electricity rates will "necessarily skyrocket"

Hmmm, who's fault is it? Nothing a well placed brain aneurism wouldn't cure!

If the state of Ohio has given Ormet 300 million as the article claims, that is $300,000 per employee.....

Ormet was in the OV because of cheap power, but with the war on coal fired power plants thats no longer available. You know its a dead issue when the politicians arrive to fool the people into thinking they were all over this and someone else (maybe some rich guy) is the cause...but not the war on coal, or Obama's obsession with outsourcing. Someone else, some rich guy, hey look over there..hate that guy..I am your friend. If you worked or retired from Ormet and voted for Obama then you bought your own ticket. Even though he said it time after time that he was going to crush the OV. There was a reason he never visited WV once in either campaigns, not once. Watching the pols show up to keep flim flaming the people is pathetic. What a collection of phony weasels!

"Byrd's money for job creation(WNHAC)"

Will you quit saying "Byrd's money? It wasn't his, it was ours. Why do you continue to praise the grand wizard of the WV KKK?

OK VRW :Our money-intended for development- was squandered by WNHAC. Nothing has been investigated or said. Our money for WJU was fraudulently used for operations vs the intent.

folks: note that Ormet itself planned a gas fired power plant for its needs as the most economical solution.
