In Florida, a women was sentenced to 20 years - with no appeal allowed - for firing one warning shot into a wall of her garage, as she was running from and then cornered by her abusive husband. This guy is getting off easy. Then he has his mother show up with his baby as though to plead some kind of emotional hardship. Where is the birth mother ? It looks like a sad generational cycle...

He must have complained to Al, Jessie or Holderman to get a light sentence.

What do you expect out of David Sims? An actual punishment that hurts? He had the job of imposing the sentence. We'll see this punk again soon.

This is so frustrating. I heard they had this good on video shooting the gun. One year is a joke. It is better than nothing, but these prosecutors are so afraid of anything going to trial, they roll over like a dog searching for belly scratches.

These are the guys that shoot and kill people. I would bet my car this idiot has previous arrests. So you get him on video, shooting a gun. He should get hammered with everything they can possibly muster. But do they? Nope, they could lose the trial so they don't fight.

And when people complain about shootings like steubenville deals with weekly, remember this case and this weak, weak punishment. And don't even open your mouths to say gun control, because when the dirtbags that shoot people do get caught, they get laughable punishments.

And so he did a step and fetchit for the court and alluded to be a family man now and going straight and yep I am going to turn over an new leaf and get a job and whatever else I am supposed to say. Except that he dealt away "recidvism" which means that he could have gotten a lot of time and it also means that he most likely was a prohibited person forbidden from having a firearm. That he drug out his 9 and busted a cap in yo ass for not letting me in the bar. It was high court theater, he played the role of poor black guy just made a mistake, the court pretended all that was true and forgot about the gun felony. EVeryone in court should have just taken their wallets and given them to Madonna of the Gallery cuz we surely are paying to raise his kid. He isn't.
