I seem to recall that when it was first constructed the Wheeling suspension bridge was the longest of its type in the U.S.. It has survived far longer than most, but it's time to replace it. Of course the same holds true for bridges and other transportation infrastructure throughout the nation. Many have far outlived their ability to survive the ravages of time, weather and traffic. Most people have little idea just how tenuous the U.S. transportation really is and how bringing it back to a state of full functionality will be enormously expensive. The alternative is disaster.

The United States said on Sunday (John Kerry) would G-I-V-E Egypt our pledged $450 million in budget support funds, part of a $1 billion pledge by U.S. President Barack Obama ."The United States can and wants to do more," he said. Their deficit would hit 12.3 percent of GDP without such action, it forecast. No mention of any hillbilly bridge.

The bridge exemplifies the general state of the nation's transportation infrastructure. The entire system is deteriorating faster than states and the nation can fix it. The cost of repairs to paving, drainage systems, retention walls, etc. is constantly increasing.

That bridge isn't going anywhere. WV wouldn't have the money to replace it.

This is OBQAMA'S FAULT due to his assault of our SECOND AMENDMENT. If he didn't dismantle the SECOND AMENDMENT the citizens would be out with assault weapons surrounding this bridge to prevent anyone from taking it up to Pittsburgh. Thanks Obama!
