Most surprising line in this article: "Obama formally enacted the reductions a few hours before the midnight deadline required by law."

Sequestration is NOW ON!

uhhhh Did the WORLD come to an this morning??

I don't notice anything different.

Is it POSSIBLE that the government can lose one PENNY from EACH DOLLAR of spending and not notice it???

"The Mack Penny Plan would balance the federal budget in eight years by cutting one penny out of every federal dollar spent for six years and capping spending at 18% of GDP beginning in the seventh year. If Congress fails to make the necessary cuts, the plan triggers automatic, across-the-board cuts to meet the yearly caps.

All told, The Mack Penny Plan would save taxpayers $7.5 trillion over the next decade, and ensure our children inherit America’s promise of freedom, security and prosperity."

So simple, even a CAVEMAN could understand it!!!!!

(Guess that leaves out Are_men_tazerianed.)

Cluela&&: "There is no deficit problem. The deficit is down about 50 percent as a share of gross domestic product just since President Bush’s fiscal year 2009 deficit -"

High school dropouts like Cluela&& fall for this liberal Excrement like flies for ****! The trick is: Obama signed the $800 BILLION Stimulus bill in 2009 but they lay that on the BUSH Fiscal Year 2009! So I guess George W. was the victim of IDENTITY THEFT by Obama! All of Obama's spending is on W's Credit Card!!!! In Liberal World, Obama became President in 2010!!!

Now daFACTS:

In early 2008 the CBO Projected a Budget SURPLUS of $70 BILLION in 2012 based on the booming Bush economy.

Let's go back in time a year: In 2007 the deficit was $162 billion. The 2012 budget deficit is $1327 BILLION!!! Increase = 719%!!!!!!!!

GDP in 2007 $14,208 Billion GDP 2012 $15,094 BILLION

Deficit as a % of GDP 2007: 1.1%; in 2012: 8.8%!!!!!

Cluel*** Math Grade: FAIL

The Superintendent of Capitol tried to assure staff on Friday that employees will not receive a cut in pay as a result of sequestration, despite President Barack Obama’s claims to the contrary.

In a news conference earlier in the day, Obama warned that starting on Saturday “the folks who are cleaning the floors at the Capitol” and “the janitors, the security guards” would face a pay cut. But in a letter to supervisors and building staff, obtained by POLITICO, superintendent Carlos Elias said “the current sequestration plan does NOT include ‘Reductions in Force’ or Furloughs.

The pay and benefits of employees WILL NOT be impacted as per out current plan.”

Referring to the president as a “high ranking official,” Elias was adamant that staff wouldn’t see smaller paychecks and to not listen to media reports."

"There is no deficit problem."

From The CBO Report February 2013;

Table 1-6. Federal Debt Projected in CBO’s Baseline - 2023 $26.052 TRILLION

Projected deficit spending for the year 2023 - $978 Billion

Net interest payment on the debt - 2023 - $857 Billion

Nothing to see here, move along! Paying almost a TRILLION $ in interest payments alone is perfectly natural!!

They are not subject to the negative impact of anything financial the regular man on the street are. They may worry about losing a slice of bread from the loaf, but know they can sruff their belley come what may may.

Medicare Cost Growth Way Down, You probably hear again and again that Medicare is the driver of future deficit trouble. Here is something you probably didn’t know because of the drumbeat of deficit propaganda: Medicare cost growth is way down. From 2000 through 2009, Medicare spending climbed by an average of 9.7 percent a year. Now those increases are down to 1.9 percent and are still falling.

There is no deficit problem. The deficit is down about 50 percent as a share of gross domestic product just since President Bush’s fiscal year 2009 deficit and is falling at the fastest rate since the end of World War II. Yet the Washington debate is about how and where to cut us back into recession. We have 10 years to fix the long-term deficit situation. We should not be stampeded by deficit-scare propaganda and instead take the time to carefully consider the right approach. That way we won’t make the mistakes that Europe is making.

Now the government is getting cut by 2% of it's GROWTH not 2% of the governmnet but only the growth of govenment and they are howling mad and claiming that the sky will fall. WOW!

Ir will be interesting how obie allocates the cuts. One point the Campaigner in Chief doesn't want to acknowledge is HE is in charge of what gets cut. You can bet hothing will be taken from the Boundary Water study committees or the Corn Popper Museum, but a bunch from visible places.

BTW, kickstand, what happens when the interest rate starts going up? All it has to do is go back to 7%, the average for the last 40 years, and the interest in the budget is a Trillion bucks. Nothing left for anything. Then what?

Last night, I heard Mike Adams tell this story (the gist of it anyway): A tribe has to cut it's budget for it's defensive spear, to 70% of it's previous funding. Okay, cut 30% off the back end of the spear. Nope, Obama does like he's told and cuts off the point first. To*****with our national security, our economy, our children's and grandchildren's future. YOU own this sequester Mr. President. Everyone knows it. Even your media lap dogs are caving. Your lies are unsustainable.
