Let me be clear: Most small business owners do not "deposit it in their off-shore Cayman accounts." JohnWV93 - you are a complete moron. As for whgfeeling, when you get Govt, subsidies for your business, sure - you don't have to worry about profit or paying your bills. There are way too many so called "businesses" in this valley that have no idea of the realities of running a company. There are many small businesses here that are struggling to stay in business, pay their employees and still take home their own money. We don't live in mansions, or take vacations, or drive fancy cars. We don't get subsidies, stimulus money or grant money. NO, we have to compete, we have to be efficient and we have to be frugal. Just wait over the next 2-3 years at all the small businesses that finally give up. You scumbags will be scratching your b a l l s a c k s wondering what happened.

There IS more to life than trying (in vain) to run the News-Register Comments column.

Everyone here knows the score, so why does the scarlet pimpernel constantly harangue us with his well-kmown views? There's something fundamentally lacking in a persons makeup to be so narrowly focused on failure.

I brought my family to Tampa for the rest of the month. The world is bigger down here.

"Will raising the min cause a raise in unemployment? Yes, but only very slightly

When you give people living in poverty more money, guess what, they spend it."

So your saying fewer people will be working but they will be making more money?? So how much will actually be added to the economy??

minimun wage goes up..that's great says obummer...tax money paid on wages goes ...up too...whenever min. wage goes up most others want higher wages too..this always happens...sure it's great..higher wages..higher tax money paid to the govt...but the low paid workers should be paid more you say...this will help to raise the prices of goods that people must buy to live...it's always worked this way...always will...most people that work for min wage know it's a start to a higher wage if they do good work...

Big Mike, Bingo you get an A+.

Try to explain that to idiots like whgfailure, PLEASE!

THAT is why THIS is a jobless recovery. Company sales are up, some are making record profits, NO JOBS.

Because they INCREASED their outsourcing to China or INCREASED their automationn to use FEWER PEOPLE and be more price competitive.

Another factor: MEXICAN IMMIGRANT labor sends MOST of the money they earn to MEXICO. Raise the min wage, just RAISE the amount of US capital that LEAVES the country and doesn't come back.

Simple minded Stooges who think EVERYBODY makes more money and it stays in the USA are living in the 1950's.

If you think government isn't greedy look up escheat and eminent domain.

I'm confused by your post John 93; which comes first, an increase in manufacturing or more production labor hiring?

FYI, job creators EARN money.

Repubtards are all big business. Will raising the min cause a raise in unemployment? Yes, but only very slightly

When you give people living in poverty more money, guess what, they spend it.

When you give the "job creators" more money, guess what, they deposit it in their off-shore Cayman accounts.

When people living in poverty get more money and they spend it, consumer demand for product goes up, manufacturing increases, the job creators are eventually forced to hire more production labor, the economy sees upticks in indexing and the cascade of positive continues . . . . . well, unless you're a greedy pig, then your taxes might increase, you have to pay more for labor costs leaving you with less for your Cayman account and your anticipated third vacation home .

whgfailing, COMPETITION, idiot. YOU can raise YOUR prices all you want,IF your competition does NOT, you LOSE all your business.

Not everybody is in low tech service business cleaning septic tanks, idiot a&&wipe, we are talking about a REAL business that makes products and has to compete at a global level.

Wraith; I would postulate that Obama has long been prepared for exactly what he is doing. Not only is his business acumen less than zero, his policymaking ability hovers just above that. He targets, isolates, and vilifies to advance agendas. Cooperation is nowhere in sight and it never will be.
