January 28, 2013

No doubt billions of dollars lavished on local and state governments through the federal “stimulus” program were wasted....

@impact: Seriously!?!?!? you are standing by that statement?

"the manner in which the stimulus money was spent may have been wasteful, but the stimulus saved this Country."

That makes no sense at all. I hope you can explain.

I have a friend who works the WV dept of transportation. he told me that when there is nothing to do which os quite often that the employees are told to just go get in a truck and keep moving to avoid lay offs. So not only are they cheating the tax payer they are also wasting fuel, wearing out tires and putting un neccessary miles on the vehicles. Maybe some one should go under cover and investigate this.

Impact, "BTW,the manner in which the stimulus money was spent may have been wasteful, but the stimulus saved this Country."

Please explain how it saved this country? Take some time to visit the "recovery. g o v" web site and report back!

If wasteful spending was the key to saving this country....We would have never been in any trouble in the first place!

You are absolutely right that WV should be ashamed of their wasting taxpayer monies the way they did. I think a public apology should be made by those involved and by the governor. This apology should be made to the Republicans and the citizens who were completely against a stimulus because they thought it would be a waste of money, and they were right!
