Lets keep in mind that Family Dollar Stores got PERMISSION from the state to sell tobacco products in WV. So in reality, the State doesn't care if you smoke or not as long as they get their cut. Are all of the Anti Smokers in Marshall County pure as the driven snow? If someone were to follow them around would they get caught Drinking alcohol and driving? I think that many of them are guilty of doing things that I find OFFENSIVE!

Marshall County Health Dept.are you trying to keep up with Ohio Co. Health Dept.? What a crop of B.S. from Marshall Co. I smoked for years over twenty years, but gave it up.My wife and I are not beyond going in a place where they are smoking, and she has never smoked and it bothers her. Alcohol makes you drunk and you can drive a car and kill a person because of it.People with guns kill people, but it's not the guns, it's the idiot using the gun. Cigarettes may cause cancer, but here is the factor, Guns, Alcohol, and Cigarettes and all "LEGAL." If you don't like the smoke, stay out! Can't people get it in their head that the goberment is taking "All" our rights from us and before long we will not be able to stand on our own two feet. It's time to bring this B.S. to a halt. America will revolt against all the idiots in D.C. It's a comin"!

What do you mean, it hasn't hurt the economy? Dr. Mercer himself closed down the Do Nut shop in Moundsville. He is hard pressed at going after the Casino which pay big tax money. Are you just blind or do you not see businesses closing left and right. Thanks to good old 666.

My neck name is Skunky any one know why? Because I smoke. I should have put stinky. Half of the hospital staff smokes. Then you get the smokers treatment if you go to the doctor or hospital. Some doctors will not take smokers. This is a selfish act against smokers. Heartless and mean spirited. Orlanda needs to go back to Orlando. Read your American history on smoking. The ban has done no good against Marijuana. People still smoke Marijuana. It's prohibition and discrimination.

Not only that it is private property and government property owned by the people. How can you people make laws that goes against the constitution? Wine, Whiskey, and beer are not banned. Why? Money that's why.

And now I notice the Free press censors or freedom of speech. What kind of America are we living in now. The Freedom of the press removes words written in the press paper. Disgusting. You all should be ashamed of yourselves. Your not Americans. You are communist. Doctor is 6 letters. Health is 6 letters Mercer is 6 letters. 666. is that plain enough?

According to history**** tobacco was one of the main export products of America and the farmers made big money sending it to England. People made their living selling tobacco including George Washington and Thomas Jefferson. Tobacco is the only thing I know of that is made in America. Zippo lighters and pipes and such. China even makes our American Greeting Cards now. If you want to*****the life out of American Economy this is a good way to do it. I for one being the Vietnam Vet I am will not take this very easy and putting mental stress on smokers is not fair not to mention physical. Cars kill and they are not banned. Alcohol kills and it is not banned. Why discriminate against smokers?

I'm fer hit! When someone figures out a way to keep all the toxic fumes produced by smoking entirely within the lungs of the smoker and be able to make a cigarette that doesn't end up cluttering public places I will support the right to smoke.

@88WVU93 I agree about the butts all over, but that's not behind the ban. Although they may have health concerns, they basically impose the ban because they can. Its power and they're on a trip!

I'm an ex-smoker and happy to be one. That said, these people are getting carried away. Maybe they'll come after the drinkers. You can have my bottle of Budweiser when you can pry it from my cold dead hands!

When is a lawyer going to have guts to stand up to this? You have gone to far and if you try this with cokes or pepsi when does it stop? ABUSE OF POWER. This is wrong. I am a Vet. It is taking away our rights to be and do what we want to do. If I want to eat a hamburger then who the heck do you think you are? You have gone to far now. Enough is enough

If most smokers weren't pigs then there wouldn't be bans against smoking outside. Go to any business, school or other public area where smokers congregate and you'll see dirty butts everywhere. Pigs. You can put all the canisters in the world in that area and most smokers will still simply flick it into the bushes or stomp it out. I tried to fix that situation at a former job and it was impossible. Even making the smokers clean up all the butts on the property didn't stop it. What percentage of smokers keep their finished butt in their car or throw it out the window? Pigs.

The way things are going cigarettes will be illegal soon. You gotta love this "free country". I never understood not being allowed to smoke outside in your own car like at Wheeling hospital. It is an individuals right to do what they want in their own vehicle. And i dare someone to tell me people can't smoke in my home.

I am not a smoker(and I don't recommend it to anyone) but this constant chipping away of the individual rights of citizens needs to stop. You think it's a good thing? Wait until your ox gets gored and see how you like it. Cigarettes are still a legal product and this is still America. Or at least it used to be.

Hotel rooms? When will the social engineering Nazi patrol get around to telling you how what you can do in your own bedroom?

Just how long is it goint to take for these people to totally destroy freedom and individual liberty, and make everyone the perfect clone of their notion of the perfect citizen?
