OK you called attention to yourself and let us know how you feel about people having the right to own a gun. You are a good liberal. Surely this tragedy did not beget a new policy on campus about firearms? No it didn't, all colleges have had strict policies about firearms and for decades. And he goes on to tell us how many wonderful, green and peaceful things he has done. Swell, all expected of a college campus. So the point of this exercise is to stand up and want to express views about people who own a firearm in Iowa or Nebraska and how he wants to be counted among those who want private ownership to end. Not about his campus, he is just using his position for his personal political view. Another announcement meant to basically say look at me, look at me. It changes nothing about the campus, BC has been proactive long before this guy showed up. OK you punched your ticket, you saw yourself in a mirror, now about BC issues and problems..is there a bandwagon for that too?

Guns empower and protect criminals.

Guns kill household members 43 more times than unwelcomed intruders...it's a fact.

Gun toting morons...the NRA!

Guns minimally protect citizens.

You, my friends are ignorant ones. The NRA has squashed straigh-forward research, information, and education concerning firearm ownership. The NRA has lied and used their power to cover up the truth about guns....that they minimally protect citizens....and that they typically kill innocent children, family members, and friends in acts of domestic violence or accidents...

Morons with guns....and cigarettes in their leather-puckered pusses...true grit of the ugly side of America.

autisticpimple, guns PREVENT 1,800,000 violent crimes a year.

FACT.

Malpractice kills 195,0000, almost 20 TIMES the gun homicides.

FACT.

Git ur head out of ur arse, boi!

Miller "I respect an individual's rights through the Second Amendment to protect their homes and for their own safety, but the semi-automatic assault weapons and the high-capacity ammunition magazines just are not necessary to do that."

Protecting your home and personal safety are important, but they are NOT why the founding fathers thought the “right to bear arms” was important enough to add to the Constitution. Neither are hunting and sport shooting. Maybe they aren’t teaching the Second Amendment at liberal arts colleges anymore. Wonder why not?

When you consider the REAL purpose of the Second Amendment it becomes obvious why a right to bear “assault weapons” and high-capacity magazines is important.

I know, I know. Obama’s “progressive” army would NEVER think of taking away ANY of your other rights. Baaaa. Baaaaa.

As an alumnus of one of the colleges where a College official used the bully pulpit to advicate anti-gun legislation, their next request for contributions will be a opportuntity for them to learn that their actions have consequences.

I will not let your First Amendment Rights infringe on my Second Amendment Rights.

We want to preserve our lands for our students to be able to walk the trails, sit in the woods, enjoy the trees in a safe environment..... nice sentiments, but watch out for the fracking on campus!

You have to take a test to become a legal driver and you have to renew that license every two to four years. Same laws should apply to gun ownership, pass a test and backround check every three years or so, also license the gun like an automobile and transfer of gun title when sold much like cars.

CLUELESS: "You have to take a test to become a legal driver and you have to renew that license every two to four years. Same laws should apply to owning a kitchen knife, pass a test and backround check every three years or so, also license the kitchen knife like an automobile and transfer of knife title when sold much like cars.

The government has been fighting "a war on Drugs" since Johnson and "illegal immigrants" for more than two decades, there are still drugs and illegals on the streets.

Gun Control Laws = Liberal Kool-Aide.

Watch the pretty colors and enjoy the liberal brain mush.

The very first time somebody goes into a school and kills 20 children, or a theater and kills 15 peoplewith a KITCHEN KNIFE then I'll join that crusade. But untill then let's stay grounded in REALITY!!!!

doesn't anyone find it odd that people in Russia the former USSR run by communists are saying to Americans: don't let them take away your guns...and now the leader of Russia is telling his people to go to Church...roles have changed...but Red China is saying disarm the american public?

Having all guns registered and licensed like Automobiles does not INFRINGE on anyones RIGHTS. You still have your right to bare arms. Those arms would be registered and titled. Titles would transfer on any GUN sale. No INFRINGMENT THERE.

As long as we are talking about the CONSTITUTION and RIGHTS. At the time it was written the ARMS that the framers were refering to was the SINGLE SHOT MUZZEL LOADER. So in effect the 2nd admendment gives you the right to own SINGLE SHOT MUZZEL LOADRES and nothingn more.
