CANAL FULTON— The 37th anniversary of the Yankee Peddler Festival will feature master artists and crafters who will take visitors back 200 years to a time when rustic shops were offered beside streams and wooded areas. The family event, which blends art, crafting, food and entertainment, will take place from 10:30 a.m. and 6 p.m. Sept. 12-13, 19-20 and 26-27 at Clay’s Park Resort. The Yankee Peddler Festival’s fame has spread throughout the United States and beyond. It has been featured in various quality tour magazines and publications, including the Rand-McNally Vacation Guides. The festival has not only become a success because of its superior quality of the artisans, entertainers and foods, but also for its authenticity, by allowing visitors to step back into the colonial and pioneer world to experience old-fashioned fun. Visitors also will be able to enter and immerse themselves in two worlds — that of colonial Ohio from 1776 to 1825 and a contemporary world of artist, crafters and entertainers. These colonial and contemporary artists will demonstrate how they can transform raw materials into finished pieces, while the entertainment in the contemporary Yankee Peddler will be relaxed, easy-going, pleasant and informative. Tickets are available by mail through Aug. 15 or may be purchased at the festival.
