PITTSBURGH — Pittsburgh Steelers coach Mike Tomlin didn’t like the fact that his team had lost two of its previous three games. So, before the Steelers hosted the San Diego Chargers on Sunday at Heinz Field, he went to the people he thought could help him with this dilemma, the leaders of his football team. “Those guys are Pro Bowl-caliber players, and they have to play at a Pro Bowl-caliber level,’’ Tomlin said after the Steelers pulled out an 11-10 victory against the Chargers to gain sole possession of first place in the AFC North Division. “I challenged them (Saturday) night, and almost every guy on that list ... played good football for us.’’ The list included: ? Quarterback Ben Roethlisberger, who completed 31 of 41 passes for 308 yards and no interceptions. ? Running back Willie Parker, who was back for just his second game in the last seven and rushed for 115 yards on 25 carries. ? Receiver Hines Ward, who caught 11 passes for 124 yards. ? Linebacker James Harrison, who recorded a safety after he sacked Chargers quarterback Philip Rivers in the end zone and forced a fumble, and he also intercepted a pass to set up a field goal. ? Safety Troy Polamalu, who intercepted a pass and was his usual disruptive self. ? Defensive linemen Aaron Smith and Casey Hampton, and linebacker James Farrior, who helped hold the Chargers to just 66 yards on the ground and 159 through the air. “It’s that time of year,’’ Farrior said. “It’s November football. It’s crunch time.
