Fans Taken By ‘Twilight’

December 15, 2008

“Twilight” fans have been waiting for this moment since production first started: the chance to see their beloved book, written by Stephenie Meyer, become a movie! More teens than ever have started to enjoy the series now that the novel jumped onto the big screen. Now, one question hangs on the tongue of every diehard fan: “Did the film do our book justice?” For the most part, it did. Other than a few differences, the movie stayed on track with Meyer’s first book. Robert Pattinson did an outstanding job portraying Edward Cullen, the 17-year-old vampire Bella Swan falls in love with. Kristin Stewart, who is Bella in the movie, did an adequate performance, but I think she fell just short in making me believe she was Miss Swan. Each actor or actress did a wonderful job bringing each of Meyer’s characters to life. The personalities of each were a bit off compared to the novel, but it is difficult to get them exactly the same.Other than the lack of explanation for each scene and the lack of necessary dialogue, I was pleased with the film overall. For the budget that Summit Entertainment had for this movie, they did their very best. I would see it again.
