I will be wearing short sleeves to work on Monday and I hope you will, too. You see it's the annual Media Blood Donor Day on Monday at the WesBanco Arena in Wheeling. This is a BIG deal, folks. Hundreds and hundreds of generous people show up for this event even when it's cold and snowy. The blood technicians from the Red Cross come from all over the tri-state to take the blood that is in such demand right now. While I have enjoyed the friendly competition among the local media outlets, the event also provides a sort of reunion for those in the news business. You can be sure that the newspapers, radio and tv stations will be well represented there. It's a great free lunch, too. There will be lots of food and snacks to enjoy after you give. What a great excuse for having two slices of pizza instead pf just one! Please help. It's worth the wait. You meet great people. There is entertainment and what you do when you give blood is nothing short of heroic. You WILL save someone's life. Wear a sweater over your short sleeves. It's usually cold in the arena. Hope to see you there.
