Watch your purse
December 21, 2009 - Heather Ziegler
A colleague had her purse stolen while at a neighborhood pub this past weekend. Sure, it can happen to anyone at any time, but this time of year it really hurts. She lost her keys, money, credit cards, phone, Ipod, camera and her sense of security. She only put it down for a minute and the two culprits involved distracted her away from the purse long enough for one of them to scoop up the purse and run out the door. She had to hurry home, cancel credits cards, phone account, bank account, etc. It's easy to say not to carry all that stuff in your purse, but I'll bet if you guys look in your wallets you will be surprised at what info you carry in there. Everyone should make copies of their credit cards, front and back, and all other important cards. Put this info in a safe place in your home. DO NOT carry your Social Security card with you. Keep your cash in your pocket rather than in your wallet. Or put credit cards and cash in a small coin purse that will fit in your front pocket when you are out and about. It's less likely to be stolen. Change your locks. And if you are the guys who stole my friend's purse, what goes around, comes around.
